Terms & Conditions

BY PLACING AN ORDER WITH MORELLOS CAKERY, YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS & CONDITIONS

BOOKING: 

The date you have booked your cake for is the date you will be collecting your cake. 

If you need or want to collect the cake earlier than your event then please book for the date you would like to collect, collection days are generally Tuesday- Friday 9am-5pm & Saturday 9am-12pm.

Collection day and time will be agreed upon booking.

MADE TO ORDER:

We do NOT have pre made cakes/ ‘spares’ available, we do not have a shop. 

We bake fresh to order from a commercial unit, so please do not turn up wanting to buy a cake there and then.

Please order via Instagram or email (nicola@morelloscakery.co.uk), at least two weeks in advance. Last minute orders are subject to availability.

CAKE DESIGN:

You are welcome to send us photos of other cakes for inspiration or themes/ colours/ ideas/ flowers you like etc.

But please note, WE DO NOT COPY OTHER BAKERS DESIGNS

Please look on our Instagram (@morelloscakery) before ordering, to make sure that you like the style of our cakes.

If you have an exact design in mind, we WILL take artistic license with it and make it our own.

STORAGE:

Always keep your cake in the fridge and take it out 1-2 hrs before serving.

In Summer months and heat more than 20 degrees, if left out for more than 3 hours your cake may bulge, lose shape or melt so please be aware of this if you have an all day event at a venue, keep away from heat and direct sunlight.

The cake is a fresh product containing no additives or preservatives and it is our right to assume consumption on the day requested. Cakes should be stored in the refrigerator, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat in the box provided.

Left over cake can be wrapped in cling film and kept in a Tupperware in the fridge. Leftovers will last 3-4 days if stored correctly.

BEFORE CONSUMPTION:

Please note your cake may contain non edible elements; dowels on the inside, silk flowers, card toppers, non edible decorations on the outside. THESE MUST BE REMOVED PRIOR TO CONSUMPTION of your cake.

COLLECTION/DELIVERY:

PLEASE INSPECT YOUR CAKE ON COLLECTION as we cannot be held responsible once it has left our premises. Please double check to make sure all details and spelling is correct before you leave. 

Almost all our cakes are made with delicate sugar/chocolate craft that can be damaged if not handled correctly.

Collections are from our unit in Fratton, the building is open on weekdays but locked on Saturdays so you can send us a message when you are outside to collect your cake.

  • PLACE BOTH HANDS UNDER THE BOARD OF THE CAKE TO DISTRIBUTE THE WEIGHT EVENLY WHEN CARRYING.

  • PLEASE DON’T SQUEEZE THE SIDES OF YOUR CAKE BOX.

  • PLACE CAKE IN THE FLATTEST PART OF YOUR VEHICLE, SEATS OR YOUR LAP IS NOT RECOMMENDED. 

  • FOOTWELL OR THE BOOT IN A BOX WITH A NON SLIP MAT PLACED UNDERNEATH IS THE BEST WAY TO TRAVEL.

ALLERGENS: 

We bake using milk/ soya/ eggs/ tree nuts/ gluten & sulphites in our commercial kitchen. If you or a guest has an allergy, please let us know when placing your order. 

Although every effort will be made to avoid cross contamination, there may still be allergens present so serious allergy sufferers are not recommended to consume Morello’s products.

PRICING:

All pricing is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Price according to your exact cake design and size. 

DEPOSITS & PAYMENT:

Deposits of £50 will be taken for wedding cakes, then remaining balance due one month before wedding date. 

For all other enquiries, a non- refundable 50% deposit is required in order to secure the commission of your cake and chosen date with Morellos Cakery. Orders are not confirmed until the deposit has been received and acknowledged by me. Bank transfer only. Orders placed for cakes less than 7 days before the collection date require full payment at the point of enquiry. Orders under £35 are to be paid in full. Following your enquiry, your quote is valid for 24 hours. Paying your deposit will secure the quoted price and date in my diary. Failure to do so will fail in booking a cake in. 

Payment must be made by bank transfer to the nominated bank account. The balance of your cake is due two days before the date of collection. If full payment is not cleared and received by this time, the order will not proceed. Deposits will not be refunded. Failure to respond to communication regarding outstanding payments will prevent you from booking in the future.

CANCELLATION & POSTPONMENT:
In the event of a cancellation by yourselves, charges are as follows;
Any payments previously made are non refundable.

In the event of a postponement, subject to availability we will carry the payment forward to the new date. Any further postponements will be classed as a cancellation.
You may, prior to 2 Months before the wedding day, or 1 Month for celebration cakes, amend or cancel your order by providing us with written notice.
In the unlikely event that Morello’s needs to cancel your order, you will be refunded in full.

COMPLAINTS & REFUNDS:

Complaints are very rare and due to the amount of work put into each individual cake we take them very seriously. Any issues must be brought to our attention within 48 hours of collection or delivery to give fair opportunity to assess the nature of the complaint.

Both Parties agree to not post any negative information about the other arising out of this Contract or Event on any online forum or website without providing advance written notice of the intended content thereof, and providing the other party with a prior opportunity to resolve any issues between the parties amicably.

Complaints regarding the decoration of celebration cake can be easily repaired so errors of this nature must be pointed out upon delivery/collection so as to give us the opportunity to correct them. Once you have confirmed you are happy with the cake on collection/ delivery, and cake has left the premises, the decoration cannot be amended.

Where the complaint is in regards to the quality of the cake then the cake, or remainder of the cake/tier, must be returned to us as soon as possible after cutting and within 48 hours of collection/delivery to ensure that we are able to fairly assess the nature of the complaint.

Please note we can only deal with the customer who placed the original order.

Refunds are given at our discretion, no refunds will be given due to change of mind.

We do not accept responsibility for damage done to a cake once it has left our premises. Please follow all these instructions and you will not have a problem.
